Antique
covered ink well,
c1820-40, most
likely Pittsburgh or
Boston &
Sandwich. Mold
blown, dark cobalt
blue with a hint of
violet when held to
the light. Both
pieces have 12
vertical ribs, cover
has a tam-o-shanter
finial. It is a
museum de-accession
piece, the inventory
numbers are intact.

measures 2-1/4" tall
& 2-3/4"
diameter near base.
Condition
is near proof. No damage.
There are micro-specks of
ash trapped in one area,
near bottom of base (see
close up photo below). All
other white specks or lines
are light reflection.
