Antique Georgian Ink Well

Antique covered ink well, c1820-40, most likely Pittsburgh or Boston & Sandwich. Mold blown, dark cobalt blue with a hint of violet when held to the light. Both pieces have 12 vertical ribs, cover has a tam-o-shanter finial. It is a museum de-accession piece, the inventory numbers are intact. What a rare & splendid addition to your ink well collection!

It measures 2-1/4" tall & 2-3/4" diameter near base.

Condition is near proof. No damage. There are micro-specks of ash trapped in one area, near bottom of base (see close up photo below). All other white specks or lines are light reflection.
