Superb
antique figural
pottery jug,
estimated c1900. I
purchased this jug
in Greece. It really
caught my attention
because I was
collecting Native
American items at
the time & it
looked like it could
be Incan. The
previous owner
thought it depicted
a Greek Goddess from
Mythology. If anyone
recognizes her,
please let me know.
The jug is hand made
& the true color
is a matte
grey-green. You can
see the kiln marks
on the base. If you
have any questions,
please feel free to
reach out.
Measures
4" tall & 2-3/4
at its wide at the
"skirt". Weighs
Excellent
condition with no chips,
cracks or nibbles. Some
rubs here & there that
cannot be felt, I think it
was made this way. There
are some skips of the
glaze on the interior
(behind her crown). Please
view all the photos, it
really is a fantastic work
of art!
